HONOR Magic V6 opens up into a pocket-sized workstation – AI and three-app multitasking at the heart

When opened, a 7,95-inch internal display is available, with a refresh rate that adjusts between 1 and 120 Hz. A 6,52-inch display is used on the outside, so when closed, the phone can be handled like a conventional flagship model. Both displays support the separately available HONOR Magic-Pen touchscreen stylus.

With Multi-flex and Fast-flex, the inner screen can be divided between multiple applications. Up to three applications can be displayed simultaneously, allowing for example a video call, a presentation and notes to be followed side by side. With Fast-flex, an AI tool or a user-selected application can be opened by bending the screen slightly.

The displays are also designed for outdoor use. The indoor display is said to reach a peak brightness of 5,000 nits and the outdoor display 6,000 nits. Both utilize 4,320 hertz PWM dimming and a surface structure that reduces reflections.

MagicOS 10 includes an AI meeting agent that can help you summarize meetings and get notified when important concepts or names are mentioned. For international communications, AI call translation and other translation features are available to translate speech in real time.

AI-powered writing tools can be used to draft and finalize text. Switching between applications is made easier with the Magic Portal and Magic Capsule, which allow content and actions to be transferred to the next application as needed.

The phone also has Google Gemini integrated. For example, you can use voice commands to search for files, open documents, and launch apps. The device comes with a three-month trial of Google AI Pro, which includes 5 terabytes of cloud storage. The availability of Gemini features may vary depending on the language, country, account, and software version used.

The Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 mobile platform is responsible for performance. The third-generation Oryon processor architecture uses eight cores and the highest clock frequency is reported to be 4,6 GHz. The system chip is manufactured using a three-nanometer process.

Power is provided by a 6,660mAh silicon-carbon battery. The maximum output of HONOR SuperCharge wired charging is stated to be 80W and the maximum output of wireless charging is 66W. Both maximum outputs require a compatible HONOR charger, which is purchased separately.

The interoperability between Android phones and Apple devices has been expanded beyond the usual. When opened, the Magic V6 can be used as an additional display for a Mac computer, and files on the phone can be viewed and managed from the Mac.

Notifications from iPhone and Apple Watch can be shared on the HONOR phone screen. AirPods have been implemented for quick pairing, and in addition, functions such as noise cancellation and headphone search are supported. iCloud files can be accessed through HONOR's document management app.

The solutions aim to lower the threshold for switching to a foldable Android phone in a situation where a computer, headphones or smartwatch are already part of the Apple ecosystem.

The HONOR Magic V6 is reported to be nine millimeters thick when closed and 4,1 millimeters when opened. It weighs 224 grams. The color options are red and black.

The Super Steel hinge uses a steel structure with a strength of 2,800 megapascals. The hinge has passed 500,000 folds in manufacturer-commissioned tests. The device is also rated IP68 and IP69 for dust and water resistance.

The inner screen utilizes a reinforced UTG glass layer. The outer screen uses NanoCrystal Shield, which has improved scratch, wear, and drop resistance compared to previous solutions. Durability values ​​are based on the manufacturer's laboratory and certification tests.

While productivity features have become the main focus of the new device, the camera system has also been revamped. A 64-megapixel periscope camera with optical image stabilization is used for telephoto photography.

The AiMAGE Color Engine and AI Cinema Color functions use AI computing to adjust the color scheme of images and videos. In addition, efforts have been made to improve night photography, skin tone processing, and low-light portraits using computational image processing.
