Sennheiser and Continental have developed the soundless Ambeo 3D car audio system, which uses instead of traditional cone-shaped speaker elements Ambeo Ac2ated Sound -technology uses the surfaces in the car interior, such as the A-pillar, the roof and door trim, and the hat rack, to produce sound vibrations that each has its own distinctive sound signature.
One of the major advantages of Ac2ated technology is weight and space savings (up to 90 percent), which is especially important for electric vehicles. Integrated with Sennheiser’s Ambeo Mobility technology, the Ac2ated system transforms the audio image into a three-dimensional image without requiring the source material to contain any enhancements. Based on algorithms, AmbeoMobility creates a stereo signal from which the best possible result is obtained.
The Ambeo system also includes a neck support solution that literally brings the sound to your ears. The innovative neck support is designed to complement the Ambeo audio system by creating a uniquely customized sound experience for each car occupant. If you are on a call, the system ensures that you can hear yourself and be heard while others can enjoy the music. If others want to sleep, you can still enjoy the music without disturbing others. However, Sennheiser says it could be another couple of years before the otherwise operational system is ready for commercial deployment, so we still have to wait a little longer.
