Motorola has announced the Z3 Play smartphone. The mid-range model supports the Z series' specialty, Moto Mods, which have connectors on the back of the phone. The interchangeable cases add features such as longer battery life, a projector, louder speakers, and a Polaroid printer.
The phone has a dual camera with a 12-megapixel main camera with an f/1,7 aperture and a 5-megapixel secondary camera. The main camera has phase detection autofocus. On the front, there is an eight-megapixel selfie camera with an f/2,0 aperture. The rear camera can record video in 4K and 1080p at 30 fps and 720p at 120 fps. The front camera, on the other hand, can record 1080p / 30 fps video. An additional feature is Cinemagraph shooting, which allows you to make part of a still image move.
The AMOLED display, which is larger and has a longer aspect ratio than before, now takes up a larger part of the front. It has a size of 6,01 inches and an aspect ratio of 18:9. The display is equipped with Gorilla Glass 3. The fingerprint scanner has been moved to the side of the phone, next to the lock button. The back wall is now made of glass, while the sides of the phone are made of aluminum. The battery is charged via a USB-C connection with 15-watt fast charging. It has a capacity of 3,000 mAh. There is no headphone jack on the phone. There are four microphones on the phone.
The system chip is now the Snapdragon 636, which is 30 percent more powerful than the Snapdragon 626 in the Z2 model. There is four gigabytes of RAM. Storage space is 32 or 64 gigabytes, depending on the version. Additional space can be purchased using a microSD memory card slot. The operating system is Android 8.1 Oreo.
The phone will hit stores around the world this month. The Moto Z3 Power Edition will also be available in Finland, which comes with a Moto Power Pack case with an additional battery. The price in Finland has not yet been announced.
