Jane Manchun Wong, who follows the unreleased features of the apps, is told on Twitterthat Spotify is developing a new Social Listening feature, which will allow users to queue songs in the app.
Friends are invited to the social playlist either via a link or by letting them scan a code with their phone's camera from the Spotify app. The new feature would make it easier to listen to music at house parties, for example, because everyone could add songs to play from their own phone, without having to create a shared playlist or take turns searching in the Spotify app on their computer, for example.
It's not yet known when Social Listening will be available for general distribution. It's also possible that it never will, as Spotify is constantly testing and developing new features, not all of which will ever make it to the app.
