Garmin has introduced two stereo and speaker kits for boats: the first includes the Fusion MS-RA60 boat stereo and EL Series speakers, while the second includes the Fusion MS-RA210 boat stereo and XS Series speakers.
Both stereos feature Multi-Zone, which allows you to assign two zones to the sound system. This allows different settings to be used in different parts of the boat. Waterproof to IPX6 and IPX7, the front panel is compatible with the Garmin MS-RA55. If you already have a Garmin MS-RA55, the new model fits into the same mounting position. The D-class amplifier consumes less power than a more traditional AB-class amplifier. You can control playback using the D-Class Fusion Link app or the Fusion Link Lite app for Garmin smartwatches.
The features of the MS-RA60 include AM/FM/DAB+ radios, AUX input, and Bluetooth. The software can be updated wirelessly via Bluetooth using the app. The device has a 2.3-inch dual-color LCD display.
The MS-RA210 stereo also includes support for USB, iPhone, iPod, and the MTP transfer protocol. The DAB+ radio, on the other hand, requires the MS-DAB100A, but there is no need for digital radio in Finland anyway. The device has a 2.7-inch color display and a digital signal processor that adjusts the sound according to the music being played to achieve the best experience. DSP profiles can be created in the application.
The cabinets of the EL Series and XS Series boat speakers are made of polypropylene. The structure of the EL Series is low and open, which means there are more installation options. The XS speakers are aluminum cone speakers and designed to withstand, for example, salt spray, dust and ultraviolet radiation. They are manufactured in accordance with the Fusion True-Marine standard. The warranty is three years.
The included set includes a speaker cable, an antenna, and a dust cover. The speaker mode can be selected between classic and sporty. The MS-RA60 boat stereo and EL Series speaker set, as well as the MS-RA210 boat stereo and XS Series speaker set, will be available in the first quarter of this year for a price of 360–599 euros.
