CANVAS L is a new product that aims to take the soundbar well beyond conventional TV sound. In the announcement material for CANVAS HiFi, the model is described as the world's first truly audiophile soundbar, and its starting point is to combine high sound quality, design that fits into the interior, and ease of use into a single device package.
The new product is presented at the world premiere High End Vienna 2026 event, The event takes place from June 4th to 7th. The timing coincides with the opening day of the event, so CANVAS L will be presented to the public for the first time.
The new model continues the manufacturer's previous CANVAS model line. This model was awarded EISA Premium Soundbar 2024–2025 award, Therefore, CANVAS L intends to continue the concept that has already attracted attention, with an even more ambitious implementation.
Unlike a traditional soundbar, the CANVAS L has not been designed solely to improve the sound of the television. The device is also built as a standalone hi-fi music system that can be used with or without the television. Investment options include wall mounting, floor mounting, and a tabletop solution.
Sound is provided by Scan-Speak, SB Acoustics and BACCH 3D+ processing
The technical implementation of CANVAS L is based on custom-made loudspeaker elements, an efficient amplifier solution and digital signal processing. The bass frequencies are provided by the eight-inch Scan-Speak elements developed for CANVAS and the passive loudspeakers based on their structure. In the mid-range, a four-inch Scan-Speak element is used, and in the upper frequencies, a 29-millimeter SB Acoustics horn tweeter.
Benno Baun Meldgaard’s expertise has been utilized in the sound design. Meldgaard is known for his work with high-end loudspeakers, and the CANVAS L sound goal has been set for a natural, effortless and musical presentation. The design has been made with the living room in mind, not just for the measurement room.

The amplifier uses the AXIGN Class D solution. The total peak power of the system is reported to be 1,500 watts, of which 2 × 300 watts are reserved for the bass elements, 2 × 200 watts for the mid-range and 2 × 50 watts for the treble elements. The frequency response is reported to be 25 Hz – 40 kHz.
One of the key distinguishing features of the device is the BACCH 3D+ processing technology. The technology, licensed from Princeton University, is based on managing crosstalk between channels to create a stereoscopic image that is physically larger than the size of a single enclosure. The goal is to achieve a wider, deeper, and higher-amplitude sound field for music, movies, and games.

Hi-fi system that integrates with television

CANVAS L is designed specifically for connection to large televisions. It is standardly compatible with 65, 75, 77, 83 and 85-inch televisions, and special sizes are available for displays up to 98–115 inches. The device comes with a front panel and TV and hybrid mounting brackets.

Compatibility is based on the unified whole formed by the television and the soundbar. CANVAS L can be installed below the television so that the whole looks like one piece of furniture. An HDMI ARC/eARC connection is included for the television’s audio, and the volume can be controlled with the television’s remote control.
The connections include HDMI ARC/eARC, digital coaxial input, Toslink, stereo RCA input, and LAN. On the wireless side, Apple AirPlay 2, Google Cast, TIDAL Connect, Spotify Connect, DLNA, and Roon Ready are supported. There is also Control4 support for home automation.
The room renovation was carried out using the CANVAS application. Measurements can be taken using a Zen microphone or an iPhone microphone, and the system’s frequency response is adjusted according to the listening room. This aims specifically at controlling bass reproduction and achieving a more balanced overall sound in ordinary living rooms.

Textiles, wood and an art version in finishing

The design continues the Scandinavian design line. The CANVAS L exterior is based on clear surfaces, replaceable front panels and finishing touches adapted to the interior. There are a total of 13 surface options available, including a black and light gray textile surface, eight Kvadrat fabric shades, and wooden trim panels in light oak, mahogany, and walnut wood.
In addition, a Carsten Beck Edition of the model is coming out, which has been created in collaboration with the Danish artist Carsten Beck. In the special version, the CANVAS L serves as both an audio system and a decorative art element.
Price and availability
The starting price for CANVAS L has been announced as 5,999 euros. The price includes the front panel, the hybrid mount and the universal TV mount. Availability is expected to begin through authorized CANVAS HiFi retailers in the last quarter of 2026.
CANVAS L clearly ranks at the top of the soundbar market in terms of price. However, its actual competitive landscape does not seem to be with ordinary soundbars; rather, the device seeks a place between a hi-fi system, home theater sound, and a TV solution integrated into the interior.
