Audio-Technica has released a new high-end turntable, AT-LPA2, A combination of minimalist design and pure analog performance. The new product draws inspiration from the manufacturer's previous AT-LP2022 special model, but is now available as a standard model for a wider audience.
Transparent design and colorlessness
The AT-LPA2’s design is eye-catching: a 30 mm thick, high-density acrylic chassis and a 20 mm thickness provide both visual appeal and excellent resonance control. The rigid structure effectively dampens unwanted vibrations, resulting in even cleaner sound reproduction.

Accurate speed and clear signal
The heart of the instrument is a manual string tension mechanism that uses an optical sensor to monitor the rotation speed at 33 ⅓ and 45 rpm settings. The power and control unit is separated from the instrument itself, which prevents electrical interference and maintains the purity of the signal.
The audio arm and the MC audio cabinet complete the overall look
The included Audio-Technica AT-OC9XEN-dual moving coil speaker features a nude elliptical needle and coils containing high-purity copper wire. The result is detailed, low-distortion reproduction and excellent channel separation.
The tonearm is made of carbon fiber and is straight, featuring adjustable VTA and azimuth, fine-adjustable strap-type anti-skate, and interchangeable counterweights for different sound cartridges. A machined aluminum headshell is also included.

Ready to use and fully analog
The AT-LPA2 comes ready to use: it includes RCA cables, a grounding cable, a 45 RPM adapter, a protective cover, tools, and inspection gloves. The player does not include digital connectivity or preamp, but is intended for those who value a pure analog signal path.
Availability and price
The Audio-Technica AT-LPA2 is now available from selected retailers. The recommended retail price is £1,699 or €1,999.
