Klipsch has unveiled two new Cinema soundbars that combine Dolby Atmos spatial audio technology. The audio reproduction is provided by the toroid elements familiar from the Reference series loudspeakers and composite-fiber-based woofer elements. The bass punch is supported by a separate subwoofer. Unlike many sound bars, the enclosures are made of real wood.
Both support the HDMI eARC audio return channel and 8K pass-through with Dolby Vision HDR. Support is available for Alexa and Google Assistant voice assistants, Spotify Connect, Airplay 2, and Bluetooth, so regular wireless playback and multi-room streaming can be achieved.
The more powerful Cinema 1200 offers 120 watts of power and 5.1.4-channel audio thanks to the upward-facing Atmos elements. It includes a 12-inch subwoofer and two wireless surround speakers.
The smaller Cinema 800, on the other hand, offers 3.1-channel sound, but is capable of decoding 7.1.4-channel Atmos sound. The subwoofer is also slightly smaller, at 10 watts. Wireless surround speakers are available separately.
