Samsung phones now make it even easier to connect new smart home devices. A feature that supports the common Matter standard has appeared on Galaxy smartphones.
Samsung smartphones have long been able to easily pair nearby Bluetooth devices manufactured by the Korean company with a single touch. The Nearby Device Scanning app has automatically announced the presence of, for example, the Galaxy Buds headphones, and a single tap is all that is required to establish a connection.
The same easy pairing also works with smart devices that support the Matter standard, thanks to the new Matter Easy Pair function. Smart home appliances and other devices that utilize the common standard are displayed in the familiar connection menu, just like Galaxy devices.
Matter is a joint project of Samsung, Google, Apple and dozens of other technology companies, whose goal is to facilitate the construction of smart homes by enabling the shared control of all devices regardless of the manufacturer.
The Matter standard was officially released in November 2022, and there are already plenty of smart devices on the market that support it in the coming months. Many companies have also already released support for the new method.
The one who reported the news SamMobile According to Samsung, the new Matter quick pairing function would work in much the same way as Google’s equivalent function. ”GMS services” are used to connect Matter devices to Galaxy devices, referring to the Google Mobile Services suite.
Samsung’s Matter Easy Pair feature has now been released in the Nearby Device Scanning app for Galaxy smartphones.
