Pro-Ject presented the Metallica record player. Its circular, sharp shapes resemble the band’s logo. The plinth is made of MDF, and on it is a disc with a mirrored shine. The aluminum legs are adjustable and are cushioned with thermoplastic elastomer. The heavy record plate is made of glass and the lower plate is made of aluminum. It is rotated by a pulley, and the instrument is equipped with an electronic speed control.
The instrument features an aluminum soundbar with the letter S on the front, with a Pick it S2 pickup developed in collaboration with Ortofon and Pro-Jet. The vertical tracking angle, needle weight, and side-sweep elimination are all adjustable. The RCA connectors are gold-plated.
The violin is handmade in Europe.
