Audio Technica has unveiled the new ATH-M60X model. These are compact closed-back on-ear headphones designed primarily for studio and DJ use. They use the same 45mm driver units as the ATH-M50X model. The drivers are neodymium magnets, and the speaker cables are wrapped in copper-coated aluminum wire.
The frequency range is said to extend to 15 Hertz on the bass side and 28 kilohertz in the upper register. The manufacturer promises exceptional clarity throughout the entire frequency range. The impedance of the ATH-M60X headphones is 38 ohms, which is moderate for studio headphones. The sensitivity, on the other hand, is 102 decibels. Therefore, playing them should be possible even on mobile devices.
One improvement is that the ear pads are memory foam in both the headphones and the case. They are promised to offer excellent insulation and comfort. Both are also removable. One three-meter straight cable, a 1.2-meter cable, and a 1.2-3-meter telephone cable are included, as well as a carrying pouch and a screw-on adapter. The weight of the headphones without the cable is 200 grams.
There is currently no exact information about the arrival in Finland and the price, but it seems that the price will be somewhat higher than that of the popular ATH-M50X headphones.
