Marantz has unveiled two new home theater components that complete the manufacturer’s updated AV lineup and at the same time offer a slightly more advanced model to a more accessible level for those seeking quality, power, and flexibility in one package.
The AV 30 preamp and the AMP 30 power amplifier are based on largely the same architecture as the previous AV 10, AV 20, AMP 10 and AMP 20, but their power and channel count are designed specifically for medium-sized and demanding home theater setups.
The AV 30 is an 11.4-channel preamp that enables the construction of multiple speaker configurations and supports Dolby Atmos, DTS:X, IMAX Enhanced, and Auro 3D audio formats. For analog inputs, there is a full range of both RCA and balanced XLR connections for all channels, including four independent subwoofer channels. As for HDMI inputs, the device has seven inputs and three outputs, all compatible with 8K/60Hz and 4K/120Hz. It also supports new HDR standards such as HDR10+, Dolby Vision, and Dynamic HDR, and its video signal processor is capable of scaling 1080p or 4K signals up to 8K resolution.
As for room acoustics, the AV 30 is equipped with the Audyssey MultEQ XT32 system, which automatically adjusts the playback response based on up to eight measurement points. Audyssey dynamic volume and frequency control are also available, and a separate MultEQ Editor application is available for more precise adjustment. Additionally, the AV 30 supports licensed Dirac Live systems, including the Dirac ART (Active Room Treatment) technology, which can further refine the acoustics to match the listening space and speaker configuration.
The AMP 30 designed for pairing is a six-channel power amplifier that offers 6x 200 W of power for a load of 8 ohms. A special feature is the ability to use BTL bridging, which allows for up to 3x 400 W for three channels — a feature that is well suited for bi-amping in the front channels, for example. The device’s construction is based on Marantz’s own HDAM-SA2 module and efficient Class D amplifier technology. The compact and low-profile chassis makes it easy to install alongside an existing AVR amplifier. The AMP 30 is also manufactured at Marantz’s Shirakawa factory, like all components in the Marantz special series.
The purpose of the new products is clear: they are designed for users who do not need the largest number of channels but do not want to compromise on sound quality or expandability. The AV 30 and AMP 30 are suitable as both a standalone high-end system and as part of a larger configuration, where they can be combined with, for example, the AMP 20 or AV 20 as needed. At the same time, they also form a perfect pairing with Marantz’s other new devices, such as the CINEMA series.
In terms of design, both devices continue the recognizable style of Marantz, featuring an iconic round front panel display, a clear graphical user interface, and optionally dimming side lighting. The housings are made of metal, and the finishing of the devices meets the requirements of high-end audio products.
The AV 30 and the AMP 30 are priced at 3999 euros each, and the first units are expected to arrive in the country in January–February 2026.
