The LG OLED Flex is the world's first 42-inch OLED TV with a foldable screen that can be adjusted to 20 different curvature positions. It includes several features designed for gamers and offers completely new ways to customize the gaming environment.
The IFA trade fair in Berlin is known for showcasing products that are completely new in their category. One of these this time is LG's OLED Flex, which on the surface looks like a slightly more rare, basic curved screen.
The idea behind the OLED Flex (model name LX3), however, is that the curvature of the screen can be adjusted by the user through 20 different positions. At one extreme, the screen is completely flat, at the other, it is “very curved”. The Flex, which is perfectly suited for gaming and is available in 42 inches, has a response time of 0,1 milliseconds and, according to the manufacturer, the so-called input lag is low. As is typical of OLED technology, the screen offers good contrast, deep blacks and very accurate color reproduction.
The display is powered by LG's Alpha 9 Gen 5 processor and a variety of algorithms to improve performance. The manufacturer says the display is also very gentle on the eyes, allowing for long gaming sessions. The Flex also has a built-in microphone and a 40-watt audio system.
There was no further information available at this stage about the availability and price of the LG OLED Flex.
