Luxman is coming out with a new flagship model of integrated amplifiers that is promised to offer the performance of separate devices in a single package.
The new L-509X offers 2 x 120 watts of AB-class power at an eight-ohm load and 2 x 240 watts at a four-ohm load. The amplifier circuit uses feedback only in the distortion components. The end result is promised to be lower distortion, a wider frequency range, and a faster rise time. The power supply is influenced by the Luxman m700u terminal and the C-900u preamp in the front stage. The transformer has a power output of 600 VA.
The turntable input works with both MC and MM headphones. The amplifier also has two balanced xlr pairs with line level and four unbalanced rca pairs. In addition, there are two pairs of speaker outputs. The other outputs are rec out and monitor out.
The symmetrical front panel of the grille features a large-sized input selector wheel and a similar volume control wheel, which uses an 88-port LECUA 1000 equalizer. The controls can also be used to select, among other things, the type of speaker cabinet, the rec out on/off status, the speaker outputs used, and to adjust the bass and treble levels and channel balance.
There is no information yet on the schedule or prices.
