Who remembers the Bowers & Wilkins Zeppelin, introduced in 2007? It was a sound system designed to be a companion to the iPod media player. Now the British manufacturer has introduced a new Zeppelin, which is designed for streaming.
It has added smart features, and the manufacturer promises that it will also sound better than its predecessor. The speakers are housed separately. In addition to the right and left speaker elements, there is a subwoofer. Control is possible with the Alexa voice assistant or the buttons on the back.
A range of streaming services are available from the Bowers & Wilkins Music app – including Deezer, Tidal, Soundcloud, Qobuz, TuneIn and Last.fm. You can also connect to Spotify directly using Spotify Connect. Other wireless playback options include Bluetooth with aptX Adaptive support and AirPlay 2.
Multi-room support is promised via an operating system update in early 2022. At that time, Zeppelin will become compatible with other Zeppelin speakers as well as the wireless Formation speakers.
Sales start today at a suggested retail price of 799 euros. The color options are midnight gray and pearl gray. The speaker's built-in lighting creates the atmosphere, which can be dimmed.
