Sony has unveiled a new home theater system that offers cinematic sound from almost anywhere thanks to its wireless design. The Sony HT-AX7 includes one larger front speaker and two smaller rear speakers.
The Sony HT-AX7 differs significantly from previous products released by the company in that it can be converted from a single component into a three-part system. This is because it has two detachable speakers. Once the three-part triangular arrangement is complete, Sony’s 360 Spatial Sound Mapping technology creates multiple virtual speakers that fill the room. This creates a spatial audio experience with cinematic surround sound.
The Sony HT-AX7 features Sony’s upmixer algorithm, which can convert stereo sound into three-dimensional surround sound. This enables real-time analysis of the sound and immersive sound reproduction. Reviews of the HT-AX7’s spatial sound are positive, whether it’s listening to music or watching movies on the TV screen. The versatile Sony HT-AX7 can also be used as a home speaker that can be placed anywhere. The HT-AX7 has a battery life of up to 30 hours.
The Sony Home Entertainment Connect app serves as the control tool for the HT-AX7. It allows you to set up the audio system and adjust the sound field, volume, and other settings via your smartphone. The new Sony audio system does not have a physical remote control.
The Sony HT-AX7 will go on sale in August 2023 with a recommended price of 600.00 euros.
