Reading time about 2 minutes
A A

Television picture calibration is a term that many people may have come across when talking about televisions or perhaps even when buying one. To put it simply, it is about adjusting the television picture to make it as good and “correct” as possible.

Calibration is promised to improve the TV's picture quality by adjusting colors, contrast, and brightness to ideal levels, but is it really worth it?

Is this really a noticeable improvement, or just an additional service hyped by experts that will bring more revenue to stores?

We set out to find out what TV calibration means in practice and how it affects the viewing experience. We visited a Power store, where we received a comprehensive demonstration of how the calibration process is carried out and what it involves. Power experts showed us the difference in picture quality between a calibrated and an uncalibrated TV under different conditions and explained the technical details of the calibration.

Is calibration really of significant benefit to the average consumer?, who is looking for the best possible picture quality for their home. Is calibration a worthwhile investment, or can a similar result be achieved with home remedies? Follow along as we find out whether TV picture calibration is a useful service or a potentially unnecessary additional expense.
