Spotify Connect will also start supporting the free trial version of the service
The devices that support Spotify Connect have required a paid Premium subscription to date, if you wanted to play music from the Spotify app directly to, for example, a speaker.
There is going to be a change here, because in the future even users of the Spotify free version will be able to play music directly through the app without the need to use a Bluetooth connection. There will be ads and limitations in terms of song selection, as with the free version as well.
The feature does not come automatically to all devices that support Spotify Connect; it depends on the device manufacturers. Spotify has released an updated SDK software development kit for manufacturers to use.
