Phone manufacturer Unihertz has brought back the nostalgic ”Blueberry” style phone. The phone has a physical keyboard and the operating system is Android 11. The phone is known as the Titan Pocket and there is also a larger Titan model available.
The dimensions of the Pocket model are 132.5 x 73.2 x 16.8 millimeters and weigh 216 grams. The phone has a backlit QWERTY keyboard, unfortunately, it does not have physical Å-, Ä-, or Ö-keys. Programmatically, these are also available. At least the settings allow for this.
Bringing a physical keyboard to the phone leads to compromises, for example in the size of the screen. The phone’s screen is 716 x 720 3.1″ IPS LCD with a touch display made of Gorilla Glass.
The phone’s body is made of aluminum, and its top and bottom are protected by rubber. Titan Pocket is advertised as drop- and impact-resistant. However, the phone is not waterproof.
The device has NFC, OTG, FM radio, fingerprint sensor and a built-in IR sensor that allows the phone to be used as a remote control. The fingerprint sensor is located on the front of the device. The device supports GPS, Beidou and Glonass positioning systems. Titan Pocket also supports 4G LTE mobile network connections as well as Wi-Fi 802.11a/b/g/n/ac / Bluetooth 4.1 / NFC connections and includes both USB-C and 3.5 mm plug connections.
Although the 4000 mAh battery may seem small, the small screen and good battery optimization make it sufficient. The Pocket comes with a USB-C to USB-A cable and a 5V/1A charger. The device is equipped with a aged Mediatek Helio P70 system chip with 6 GB DDR4 RAM and 128 GB internal storage. Additionally, the phone has a MicroSD card slot.
The pocket has an automatic 16 MP rear camera and a fixed 8 MP front camera. The phone’s camera app has very little post-processing, which easily leads to, for example, blurry images. However, the camera performs well for basic functions like document digitization.
The Titan Pocket price is 399.95€.
