HMD Global, which currently manufactures Nokia devices, has presented three new smartphones at the Berlin IFA show, which have focused on environmental friendliness in their category at least a little better.
About phones X30 5G (pictured) offers, among other things, eight gigabytes of memory, 256 gigabytes of internal storage, a 6.43-inch FHD+ AMOLED PureDisplay display with 90Hz refresh rate, and a camera system featuring a 50-megapixel PureView camera on the back, along with an 13-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera on the front, and a 16-megapixel selfie camera. The operating system is Android 12.
According to HMD Global, the Nokia X30 5G is made of 100% recycled aluminum and 65% recycled plastic. Although the device’s ecological footprint is smaller than ever before, the phone’s features are of the highest quality. The device comes with a three-year warranty, three operating system updates, and three-year monthly security updates.
The phone is available in Cloudy Blue and Ice White colors, and its recommended retail price on the manufacturer's website is 599 euros.
Another new Nokia model is G60 5G, It has a 6.58-inch FHD+ display with 120Hz refresh rate and 400 nits brightness. Like the X30 5G, it also has a Snapdragon 695 processor, four or six gigabytes of RAM, and 64 or 128 gigabytes of internal storage.
The G60 5G battery has 4,500 mAh with a 20-watt charge, and it also has a 50-megapixel main camera with a 5-megapixel wide-angle lens and a two-megapixel depth camera. The G60 5G also has Android 12 with three years of updates. The color options are black and ice, and the recommended retail price is 359 euros.
The third Nokia novelty is the affordable and simpler C31, which has not yet been listed on the HMD Global Finland website. Its exact price and availability are not yet known, but the international average price is 129 euros.
The C31 is plastic in structure and features, among other things, three cameras, a 6.7-inch display with a standard 60Hz refresh rate, three or four gigabytes of RAM, and 32, 64, or 128 gigabytes of internal storage. It also has Android 12, but no operating system updates are planned.
At the IFA trade show, Nokia also launched a tablet device and a Circular subscription service aimed at more environmentally friendly smartphone use. However, the service has not yet been launched in Finland.
