New York-based digital audio specialist Mytek has released a new version of the Brooklyn Bridge, which combines the acclaimed Brooklyn DAC+ and a built-in network player.
From its audio circuit and from the manufacturer, the device is said to be similar to the Brooklyn DAC+, but its aes/ebu connections have been replaced with an ethernet connection, a wifi antenna, and a USB connection for an external hard drive.
With the device you can stream music from Tidal, Qobuz and local files via USB connections using an iOS and Android tablet. It also supports Roon. As usual, the device features line and phono inputs for mm and mc connections, and a headphone amplifier with a power output of up to 500 milliamps and six watts. Outputs include balanced RCA and balanced XLR connections in addition to the headphone outputs.
The device is capable of converting PCM audio with a maximum depth of 32 bits and a sampling frequency of 384 kHz. Native DSD support is available up to dsd256 quality. Additionally, the device supports dxd. The maximum quality can be achieved via the USB connection, but via the coaxial and optical connections the quality reaches 24 bits and 192 kHz.
The volume control is available separately for the headphones and the earbuds, in digital and analog form. A remote control is included, but the device can also be controlled using standard remotes.
