The long-lasting Silver speaker series from Audio has moved into the eighth generation. The new Silver Series 8G consists of seven models that can be used to build both a traditional two-channel stereo system and a multi-channel Dolby Atmos home theater system.
This is the first actual generation change since the 2021 Silver Series 7G model lineup. The Silver Series’ history dates back to 1999, making it one of Monitor Audio’s longest-lived speaker families.
The reform is not limited to simply changing the model designation. The element technology, treble speaker, reflex channel, crossover control units, cabinet structure, and floor speaker support legs have all been developed. At the same time, the structure of the lineup has also been changed from the previous generation.
Seven models for two different uses
The stereo side of the Silver Series 8G model consists of the Silver 500 8G and Silver 300 8G floor speakers, as well as the Silver 100 8G and Silver 50 8G floor stand speakers. Alongside these are the Silver Centre 8G speaker designed to be placed on a stand, the Silver On-Wall 8G for wall mounting, and the upward-facing Silver AMS 8G Dolby Atmos speaker.

At the same time, the lineup has been condensed. The Silver 200 floor speakers from the previous Silver Series 7G generation and the Silver FX surround speakers are not included in the 8G models at least not at the time of the announcement. Instead, a low-profile Silver On-Wall 8G has been added to the lineup as a new option that can be used in both stereo and multichannel systems.

The Silver AMS 8G, in turn, can be placed on top of a compatible Silver speaker to produce the height channels of a Dolby Atmos system. According to the manufacturer, it fits directly on the Silver 50 8G and Silver 300 8G models.

C-CAM elements were transferred to the RST III generation
The C-CAM elements characteristic of the Silver series have not been abandoned. The third-generation RST III structure is now used for the raceways made of ceramic-coated aluminum-magnesium alloy.
The geometry of the kart has been modified to increase stiffness and reduce unwanted vibrations. At the same time, the motor structure, suspension, and ventilation of the element have been developed. The goal has been to improve the linearity and control of the mid-range area, as well as achieve greater power output.
The familiar C-CAM Gold Dome tweeter has also been thoroughly reviewed. Its back chamber and ventilation have been modified, the magnetic structure has been developed, and the front uses the UD Waveguide II design. The changes aim to achieve more uniform radiation and less distortion with different listening volumes.
Silver 100 8G changed from two tracks to a three-track structure
One of the most interesting individual changes in the lineup can be found in the Silver 100 8G floorstand speaker. The previous generation Silver 100 7G was implemented as a two-way speaker with one eight-inch mid-bass driver and a tweeter.
In the Silver 100 8G model, the structure has been modified to become a true three-way speaker. In addition to the eight-inch C-CAM RST III bass driver, a separate three-inch midrange driver has been added, with a 25-millimeter C-CAM Gold Dome tweeter above it. The manufacturer’s stated frequency range extends from 33 hertz to 35 kilohertz at -6 dB points.

The change makes the Silver 100 8G model structurally significantly different from its predecessor, and it’s not just a matter of updating the elements of the old model.
With the Silent Flow reflex channel, air flow noises are reduced
In the bass sound mode, the new Silent Flow Port solution has been adopted. The diameter of the reflex tube has been increased and the shape of the fins has been modified to ensure the air flow is as uniform as possible even at higher sound volumes.
Monitor Audio says it has taken inspiration from the design of a swan's winglets, combining the two structures to reduce turbulence and the flow noise generated by the reflective opening, especially when the movement of the elements and the air speed increase.
At the same time, the power distribution components have been redesigned. The capacitors, coils, and resistors have been updated, and the component selection has been aimed at reducing electrical losses and aligning the elements more closely with each other.
More attention has been paid to the rigidity of the housing
The mounting of the elements continues with the Monitor Audio Through-Bolt solution, where the elements are supported by a long bolt directly to the rear of the enclosure. The purpose of the structure is to stiffen the enclosure without additional mounting screws on the front panel, while at the same time reducing the vibrations transmitted to the frame.
The enclosures also use internal supports and sound absorbers to reduce panel vibrations. The design of the floor speakers’ support legs is inspired by the more expensive Platinum Series 3G series from Monitor Audio. Adjustment is made from above the leg, and a wedge can be used against the floor or a rubber pad suitable for hard surfaces can be used.
There are three finishing options
The Silver Series 8G models are manufactured in three finishes: glossy black, satin white and European Walnut finish.
In the walnut finishing process, a layer-by-layer veneered wood is used. According to Monitor Audio, the material is manufactured from sustainably sourced wood and its appearance mimics the deep grain patterns of rarer wood species without using them.
Prices start at one thousand euros for a couple
The recommended prices for the Silver Series 8G model in Europe range across a fairly wide spectrum. The Silver 50 8G costs 1,000 euros for a pair, the Silver 100 8G 1,800 euros, the Silver 300 8G 2,400 euros, and the largest model in the series, the Silver 500 8G 3,100 euros for a pair.
The Silver On-Wall 8G home theater model costs 550 euros per piece and the Silver Centre 8G 1,000 euros per piece. The Silver AMS 8G pair is priced at 1,100 euros. The prices in the listings of Finnish retailers correspond to the recommended prices in Europe.
The availability of the series is said to begin in August 2026. According to the brand's own distribution information, the brand's Finnish distributor is the Helsinki-based Loud Group.
Overall, the Silver Series 8G is clearly more than the typical mid-generation refinement seen. The basic structure and the long-standing C-CAM solutions of the Monitor Audio are still recognizable, but in addition to changes in elements, bass reflectors, dividing panels, and the chassis structure, the product lineup itself has also been redesigned. In particular, the transition of the Silver 100 8G to a three-way structure and the addition of the new On-Wall model make the eighth generation a more technically interesting update than just an appearance upgrade.
