The mobile river card has taken an important step towards its final release, as the Finnish Transport and Communications Agency Traficom has made its Autoilija app available as a beta version for Android mobile devices. The number of test users is initially limited, and during the testing phase it is intended to ensure the app’s performance and the latest changes.
The Android operating system must be at least version 7.0. The user is also required to be 15 years of age and have strong electronic identification. The driver’s license must be valid and have a digital photo in the passport and driver’s license registry. This matter is being handled if the person owns a valid passport or has sent an electronic passport photo for the driver’s license to the system no earlier than in 2013.
With the mobile driving license it is already possible to demonstrate driving privileges in the mainland of Finland, just as with a physical driving license. However, it is the service providers who decide on the acceptance of the license in different services.
At this stage, it has not yet been announced when the iOS operating system version will be made available for testing. More information about the mobile driver card and its implementation can be found here. From the Traficom website.
