Billie Eilish, one of the world’s most popular pop stars, has released her third studio album, ”Hit Me Hard and Soft”. The album was written and composed by Eilish and her brother Finneas O’Connell, who is also responsible for the production.
The album has received almost unanimous praise from critics. Neil McCormick of The Telegraph gave the album full five stars, describing it as ”a soulful and heart-breaking masterpiece” and comparing it to Joni Mitchell’s classic album ”Blue”. According to McCormick, this is Eilish’s best album to date.
NME’s Thomas Smith is in agreement, praising Eilish’s personal approach to music-making. ”In writing for herself, she has created an album that resonates more deeply than any previous work,” Smith notes.
The Independent also gave the album a full five stars, as did many other media outlets. The Guardian gave the album four stars. The adjectives used by critics describe the album as ”confident”, ”bold”, ”intimate” and ”brilliant”.
Billie Eilish's new album seems to solidify her position as one of the most significant pop artists of our time, and it earns praise from critics for both its musical depth and her personal touch.
