The Oculus Go virtual reality glasses announced by Facebook last autumn have arrived for sale. They operate independently, meaning they do not need a computer or phone to be used with them. The device is lighter than previous Oculuses and is coated with fabric.
The manufacturer promises that the lenses are the most innovative and the sharpest of the VR standalone virtual reality glasses. The image is praised as crystal clear and vivid. The Oculus Go features built-in spatial sound speakers and can be connected to traditional headphones via the 3.5mm mini plug connection.
New features include Oculus Venues, which allows you to experience concerts or sporting events virtually with others. Previously available Oculus Rooms have also been improved. Oculus TV enables you to watch virtual television with others. Oculus Go is also compatible with over a thousand virtual content from previous Oculus Gear VR models. The availability of content varies by country.
The device can now be purchased from the Oculus online store, where it will also be delivered to Finland. There are two versions available, with the difference being the size of the storage memory. The model equipped with 32 gigabytes of storage costs 219 euros, while the one equipped with 64 gigabytes costs 269 euros. The latter can store more, such as movies, games, and apps.
