The German high-end manufacturer Burmester has presented the new BC150 speakers and the 217 record player. According to the manufacturer, more new products are expected within the next year.
The BC150 speakers are a shrunk version of the BC350. It belongs to the Reference Line series, but has taken inspiration from the Signature Line series, whose manufacturer says it represents the technical expertise of the highest level. The three-speaker speaker unit consists of an AMT ribbon tweeter, a 180 mm midrange driver and a 320 mm bass driver. The enclosure is made using the bass reflex principle. A special design feature is that a ribbon tweeter has also been placed on the rear. It can be adjusted to optimize the sound experience.
The 217 turntable has been inspired by the Reference Line series. The frame is made of a single piece of aluminum. The motor-driven arms are in pairs, and they are said to offer maximum accuracy and efficiency. At the end of the turntable is a straight audio arm made of fiber composite material and aluminum. The needle is Shibata-sharpened. The record mat is composite leather.
Over 95 percent of the materials used by the company come from Germany, and the equipment is also manufactured in the company’s home country. According to the manufacturer, the BC150 will go on sale in November and 217 in October. Prices and availability in Finland are not yet known.
