HMD Global will bring its affordable Nokia 2.3 smartphones to Finland on January 27th. The phone falls into the affordable price range with a recommended price of 119 euros. Despite that, it offers a few highlights.
The display is 6.2 inches in size and has a 19:9 aspect ratio. The resolution reaches HD+-level. The five megapixel front camera fits nicely into the display. Face recognition is also available via the front camera. The rear camera has a 13 megapixel main camera and a 2 megapixel depth camera. The camera app also takes photos before and after pressing the shutter button, which also suggests the best shot. A button on the right side of the phone is used to activate the Google Assistant voice assistant.
The same MediaTek Helio A22 chip as in the previous Nokia 2.2 has been used as the system core. It is paired with 2 gigabytes of RAM and 32 gigabytes of storage, which can be expanded via a memory card. The phone has a 4,000 mAh battery that is said to last for two days. The battery is charged via the micro-USB port. The charging power is 5 watts.
The polymer plastic outer shell makes it look like an affordable phone thanks to the 3D nanotech texture. The phone will be available in cyan-green, light brown sand, and gray charcoal colors.
The phone initially has the Android 9 Pie operating system, but due to its membership in the Android One program, the phone is promised to receive operating system updates for two years and security updates for three years.
