Energizer, known for its batteries, enters the mobile world with the new Hard Case P28K smartphone. Avenir Telecom, the licensee of the Energizer brand, is bringing to market a device that stands out with its massive 28,000mAh battery. This battery provides users with up to a week of use on a single charge, redefining expectations for smartphone battery life.
The battery size of the Hard Case P28K is unprecedented for smartphones, making the device extremely thick – 27.8mm, or over an inch. For comparison, the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra is only 0.34 inches thick, and the Z Fold 4 is 13.4mm folded, which is half the thickness of the Hard Case P28K. Additionally, the phone weighs 570g, three times the weight of the iPhone 15 model.
Although the additional weight and thickness brought by the Hard Case P28K may be a challenge for some users, its talk time is incredible: about 122 hours, or more than five days. The standby time extends to 2,252 hours, or almost 94 days, which is more than three months.
The Hard Case P28K also supports 33W fast charging, and according to Avenir Telecom, its huge battery charges to full in just one and a half hours with the included 36W charger.
The device is designed for users who value durability and long battery life more than top-of-the-line features. There is no 5G connectivity or the latest Qualcomm SoC processors; instead, the phone uses the MediaTek MT6789 processor. It has a 6.78-inch 1080p LCD display, Android 14 operating system, 8GB RAM, 256GB storage, and a three-camera configuration: a 60-megapixel main camera, a 20-megapixel secondary sensor, and a 2-megapixel sensor. The front has a 16-megapixel camera, and the device is rated IP68 for water resistance.
The Energizer Hard Case P28K will be available in October at a price of €249.99 ($271).
Energizer has previously released phones that had 7,000mAh and 16,000mAh batteries. The company also introduced the Power Max P18K Pop model, which had a 18,000mAh battery.
