JBL has unveiled a Bluetooth speaker that is louder than any JBL portable speaker ever before.
It is the JBL Boombox, released in 2017, which AVPlus tried it out, The new version, called Boombox 2, follows the same design as its predecessor. Compared to its predecessor, the appearance has remained largely unchanged, but the weight has increased by 650g, bringing the total weight to 5.9 kg. Special attention has been paid to the grip, which has been inspired by the handlebars on a motorcycle designed to work in all conditions.
Boombox 2 is not only the loudest speaker in its class, but also the most durable. With an IPX7 rating, Boombox 2 can be submerged in water to a depth of one meter for half an hour, and the device is not affected by it at all. The battery life is also top-notch, promised to last up to 24 hours, allowing you to conveniently charge your phone or tablet directly from the USB port. The speaker is also equipped with the PartyBoost feature, which allows you to chain multiple JBL PartyBoost-compatible speakers together.
