Polk Audio introduced its first soundbar compatible with Dolby Atmos. The Signa S4 is an affordable model with improved low-frequency reproduction thanks to a wireless subwoofer.
The sound drivers in the 3.1.2-channel device are seven. Two of them are responsible for the vertical Atmos sound. The Signa S4 is also capable of converting other audio formats to the Dolby Atmos format.
The center speaker utilizes its patented VoiceAdjust technology, which should make dialog clear even in action scenes when watching with low volume. Pre-selection options are available for movies, music, and night viewing.
The subwoofer can be placed anywhere in the room within ten meters of the soundbar. Pairing occurs automatically. It includes the Bass Adjust feature that adjusts the bass frequencies of both the subwoofer and the soundbar.
The HDMI port includes an eARC return channel for audio, allowing Dolby Atmos audio to be transmitted from the television. Other ports include an optical input and an analog AUX input. The device also supports Bluetooth playback and can be wall-mounted. A remote control is included.
