Microsoft ends support for Windows Phone 8.1
Microsoft has announced to end support for Windows Phone 8.1 i.e. no longer releases updates for it. This also means security updates. The Verge even writes about the death of Windows Phone. The view is based on the fact that the majority of users use Windows Phone versions 7, 8 and 8.1. 20 percent of users are users of the newer version 10. Its updates have been promised to continue until the fall of next year.
For now, it's just a matter of rumors as to what Microsoft plans to do next with Windows Phone. It's already long rumoredthat a different mobile device would be coming, using the CShell interface of the Windows 10 operating system.
