Honor 600 Lite brings a metal body and a large battery to a mid-range phone

The Honor 600 Lite's main selling point is durability. The phone is equipped with an aluminum unibody construction, which is promised to give the device a more solid feel without increasing its size. It is 7,34 millimeters thick and weighs about 180 grams, so the device is not made to be a heavy-duty construction phone in terms of shock resistance, but more of a mid-range phone between a regular consumer phone and a more durable everyday model.

The durability is backed by a five-star drop and crush resistance certification from SGS. In Honor's laboratory conditions, the phone is said to have withstood a drop from a height of up to 1,8 meters. It also comes with an IP66 rating, which means protection against dust and powerful water jets. However, this is not a device intended for underwater use, and the manufacturer notes that splash, water, and dust protection may deteriorate over time.

On the front is a 6,6-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 2600 × 1200 pixels. The display has a refresh rate of 120 Hz, 1,23 mm bezels, and the manufacturer claims a peak brightness of up to 6,500 nits in certain situations. The brightness reading should be read as a peak value rather than as a continuous full-screen brightness, but the feature indicates that the display has been made more readable outdoors.

Eye-friendliness is sought with 3,840 Hz PWM dimming, hardware-level blue light filtering, dynamic dimming, night display and e-book mode. On paper, the display is clearly one of the most interesting aspects of the model, especially if the phone is used a lot for messaging, social media, videos and online content.

The Honor 600 Lite is equipped with a 6,520 mAh battery, which is promised to last up to 2,5 days with typical use. This clearly puts the battery among the most interesting features in the mid-range price range, as the large capacity can practically mean less frequent charging during workdays, travel, and active leisure use.

Charging is done via 45-watt Honor SuperCharge. Based on test observations, the charging speed cannot be considered exceptionally fast, but considering the capacity, the overall focus seems to be more on long usage time than very fast charging. In TechReviewer's test, a full charge was said to take about 80 minutes, and wireless charging is not supported.

On the imaging front, the Honor 600 Lite has a 108-megapixel main camera, accompanied by a 5-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera. The front camera is reported to have a resolution of 16 megapixels. The main camera supports 3x lossless zoom, and there is a dedicated camera button that allows you to quickly open the camera, take a photo, start video recording, or zoom by sliding your finger over the button.

The whole thing sounds versatile, but in our first experiences, the camera has not been promoted as the strongest part of the device in the same way as the structure, display and battery. This is an important point, because the 108 megapixel reading alone does not make the phone a real top-of-the-line camera model. The camera seems to be primarily a solution aimed at everyday photography, not a challenger to the photography of flagship phones.

The phone's specifications list a MediaTek Dimensity 7100 Elite chipset, 8GB of RAM, and 128GB of storage. It also supports 5G, dual nano-SIM and eSIM, Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 6.0, NFC, and USB-C. It runs Android 16 with MagicOS 10 on top.

AI functions are primarily related to imaging, text processing, information retrieval and user interface assistance. Examples include AI eraser, AI expansion, AI scaling, AI summarization, AI subtitles and Google's Circle to Search. In addition, AI-based voice cloning detection is included, which is intended to help identify potential scam calls.

In early tests, the Honor 600 Lite has been considered interesting specifically in terms of its build, display, and battery life. TechReviewer gave the model a score of 8,4 and highlighted the lightweight build, bright display, and strong battery life as strengths, but mentioned minor weaknesses in the camera.

The io-tech test also noted the high-quality AMOLED display, good battery life, durable construction, and long update support as pluses. At the same time, it was noted that the device is not specifically designed for camera use or heavy gaming, but is more suitable for users who value durability and reliability at an average price.
