High-end manufacturer McIntosh has unveiled a Bluetooth module. The MB20 functions as both a transmitter and a receiver. It is powered by a USB-C connection, and the playback is enhanced by SBC, AAC, aptX, aptX HD and aptX LL codecs. Better sound should therefore be available at the basic level. A switch is located on the back of the device for selecting between the HD and LL codecs.
Even if you don't want Bluetooth, thanks to the numerous connections, you can also use the device as a DA converter. The device's DA converter circuit is capable of processing 32-bit and 384-kilohertz PCM audio and DSD128.
There are USB-C, coaxial RCA and optical inputs available. Analog inputs are also available in RCA and XLR formats. For outputs, there are optical, coaxial RCA, analog RCA and XLR options.
