Garmin introduced the Instinct Crossover watch lineup, which includes the Standard base model as well as the Solar and Solar Tactical Edition models that charge using solar panels. All three are hybrid watches, meaning they have analog clock hands but also a touchscreen display. The Instinct Crossover watches also include heart rate monitoring, stress level monitoring, sleep tracking, and various workout modes. Payment is made via Garmin Pay.
Durability has also been taken into account. The watches are rated 10ATM waterproof, meaning they can withstand diving to 100 meters deep. Against other shocks and extreme conditions, the watches are protected in accordance with the U.S. Department of Defense MIL-STD-810 standard. Garmin has also developed RevoDrive technology, which adjusts the watch to its correct time after impacts.
The standard version is promised to last less than a month without GPS tracking. With it, the duration is stated to be 110 hours. The Solar version charges in sunlight. A full charge should last 70 days in well-lit conditions, in principle unlimited in simplified mode in sufficiently bright weather.
The Tactical Edition also features tactical features such as support for night vision goggles, a secret room for high-jump and a spot for jumping according to the army's instructions, and navigation to the target after the jump.
The new products are available for pre-order on Garmin's online store, and shipments are expected to begin around the turn of the year. The prices are as follows:
Instinct Crossover Standard: 569 €
Instinct Crossover Solar: 619 €
Instinct Crossover Solar Tactical Edition: €669
