Dan D’Agostino Master Audio Systems has unveiled a revamped version of its Momentum preamp. The new model is called the Momentum HD. It features a 33 percent larger transformer, a new discrete and differential FET gain stage, new tone and volume control circuits, and Bluetooth remote control for connection.
The converter is housed in an insulated enclosure. It has taken advantage of the winding technology launched in the Momentum M400 amplifier. The internal circuitry filters out radio frequency interference from the mains power supply. The power supply has been upgraded to provide a higher output voltage, now delivering 36 percent more voltage. This is said to provide better dynamics at the micro- and macro levels. The new controls offer more adjustment options and precision.
Externally as well, Momentum HD has gained a bit of new momentum in the spirit of the Momentum M400 and S250. The color options are classically silver-gray and black.
The price of the front-end amplifier in the United States is 40 thousand dollars, but owners of the previous version can upgrade it to an HD model for 7,500 dollars. Deliveries in the United States will begin in March.
