German company Beyerdynamic has unveiled its first wireless headphones. The Free BYRD headphones are equipped with aptX Adaptive and AAC codecs as well as digital noise cancellation.
In terms of design, they are quite distinctive. The color options are black and gray.
The headphones are designed in Heilbronn, Germany. The sound is said to be of the familiar Beyerdynamic quality. The headphones use 10mm drivers.
The intercom is equipped with Transparency Mode, which allows you to hear the sounds of the surroundings. The call quality has also been improved with Qualcomm’s cVc noise cancellation technology and four microphones. Supported voice assistants include Amazon Alexa and Apple Siri.
The battery life is promised to be quite decent at 11 hours on a single charge. A 10-minute quick charge gives 70 minutes of additional listening time. A charging case is included, which can be charged using the USB-C connection or via wireless Qi charging. Five silicone and three memory foam ear tips are included in different sizes. The headphones are IPX4-rated for protection against splashes.
Features include easy Bluetooth pairing with Android devices and low-latency mode for gaming. The Beyerdynamic MIY app provides access to the MOSAYC personalization function, which allows you to customize the playback to fit the user’s ears in just a few minutes. It also features a equalizer and a wireless device firmware update.
