The best products of the year 2021

We chose the best of this year's tested devices from among them!

In the test: Kero speakers that bend

Taipu, from Oulu, has convinced its listeners everywhere with its large mass-produced wooden speakers, and now the considerably more compact Kero aims to do the same. And it quite succeeds in doing so.

iFi Audio Zen Stream audio player/streamer

The task of iFi Audio's Zen Stream is to excel in one aspect of digital audio playback – transporting sound from the internet to a DA converter as smoothly as possible. How does it do that?

Knowledge and skills: Calibrating the image on television, part 2

If you want to get the most out of the image and, above all, to reproduce the original view intended by the producer, director, and colorist, image calibration is the only way to ensure a genuine viewing experience. However, it is such a demanding task that it is often best to purchase it as a service.

Loewe Bild v.55 TV set

The new Bild v.55 may not stand out from the crowd with its versatile features, but with its simple and easy-to-use design, excellent visuals, design, and premium feel, it certainly has its price.

History of Hifi: Sansui SP-50 speakers

We found amazingly good-sounding and beautiful speakers from the esteemed hi-fi brand Sansui – dating back to the 1970s.

In the experiment: An affordable wireless FullHD camera set

Security cameras can monitor the situation in your home, business, or even your summer cottage in case of unwanted visitors. The e-Ville online store's affordable four-camera set really surprised me positively.

Audison APBX 8 AS2 active subwoofer for car

Car factory-installed audio systems often leave something to be desired, especially in terms of low frequencies. However, solutions are available to rectify this – here’s one compact but highly capable alternative.

In the experiment: Doro 8110 smart phone

The Doro 8110 offers smartphone functionality, but with a simpler and clearer approach than usual.

In the experiment: Affordable 120-inch motorized screen

A ceiling-mounted, remote-controlled motorized screen is a convenient and stylish solution for a more casual home theater setup. At its most affordable, you can get one that’s 84 inches wide for as little as under 90 euros, and a large one, 120 inches wide, for under 200 euros.

Numan Retrospective 1978 MKII speakers

The sound of the Numan Retrospective 1978 MKII is far from neutral, but it is an excellent – if not the only – option for anyone looking for a loudspeaker that is both affordable and different from the masses in terms of both design and sound. It’s surprising for the price.

OLLO Audio S4X and S4R headphones

Small Slovenian headphone manufacturer Ollo Audio has risen to a high reputation in the professional audio industry in just a few years. The handmade headphones are beautiful – but how do they perform at home?

And of course
